SmartGeo is an interdisciplinary engineering and science graduate program designed to prepare a new generation of leaders in the development of intelligent geosystems - enabling engineered and natural earth structures and environments that sense their environment and adapt to improve performance. Research efforts focus on advancing intelligent geoconstruction, intelligent earth dams & levees, and remediation of contaminated soil and water. SmartGeo is different than traditional Ph.D. programs. SmartGeo graduate students:
- pursue research & innovation within multidisciplinary teams
- participate in a formal leadership and teamwork development program
- integrate science & technology policy into education and research
SmartGeo is accepting applications for Fall 2013. Ph.D. Fellowships cover full tuition, fees, health insurance and provide a $30,000 annual stipend. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to qualify for a Fellowship. The deadline for Fellowship applications is December 31.
